Janie Welch Berry McAlpin, Magee, MS

 

Janie Welch Berry McAlpin, 81, of Magee passed from this earthly life on February 16, 2016, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. 


She was a faithful member of the Rials Creek Methodist Church, where she worshiped and served for many years. She will be remembered for having a servant’s heart, service for others and especially her love and devotion to her family. 
Janie was preceded in death by her husband, John Fleet Berry of 28 years; Mack S. McAlpin of 25 years; father, Enois Welch, mother, Dollie Brown Welch; brothers, Lennis Welch and Dick Welch; sisters, Loree Sullivan, Eunice Anderson and Eva Mae Grayson.
She is survived by her son, John Dale (Heather) Berry; sister, Cora Belle (Breland) Roberts; granddaughter, Savannah Berry; grandson, John Mark Berry and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Thursday, February 18, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Rials Creek Methodist Church in Mendenhall, with Sammie Napier and Bro. Buddy Bayliss officiating. Burial will follow at Shivers Cemetery. Visitation was held, Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee.

Pallbearers are her nephews, Mitchell Roberts, Danny Welch, David Welch, Darrell Welch, Bo Huffman, and Larry Grayson. Honorary Pallbearers are Rick Bradley and Scott Wallace.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Rials Creek Methodist Church.
