Harold Scott Brown, 90, of Mt. Olive, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.
Mr. Brown, a native of Jefferson Davis County, graduated from Clem High School and then served in the United States Navy. He was married to the love of his life, Willie Bee, for 70 years. After a career with Honeywell, he retired and devoted his time to his cross-bred cattle operation. Fifteen years ago, he turned his cattle farm into a tree farm. He was a deacon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 51 years and a Mason for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Bee Brown; his son, Harold Scott Brown, Jr. and wife, Maureen; sister, Sue Boggan and her husband Joe; grandchildren include, Brandy Brown Gordon, married to Steve Gordon; Tyler Brown, married to Jenne' Boucher Brown; great-grandchildren are, Katie Parker Gordon, Charlie Scott Gordon and Georgia Dupree Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Mary Alice (Griffith) Brown; sister, Rosenell Hilton and brother, Fred Brown.
Visitation will be held at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee on Friday, January 27, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, on Saturday, January 28, at 1:00 p.m., with an hour of visitation at the church from 12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m. Final Resting place will follow in the church cemetery.
