Archie Leonard Magee, 94, died January 10, 2013, at his home in Jackson, MS. Archie was born July 23, 1918, in Mt. Olive, MS to Mollie Dickson Magee and Henry Leonard Magee. He was the youngest of eight siblings, all of whom are deceased. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years and the love of his life, Frances Brown Magee.
After college, Archie joined the Navy in 1943 and worked as a member of the Embassy in Rome, Italy.
Archie and Frances settled in Mendenhall where they reared four beautiful daughters. Archie was the Chancery Clerk of Simpson County for almost two decades.
They moved their home to Jackson where Archie was an avid tennis player, bridge player, and loved to ballroom dance.
Archie was happiest when he was doing things for other people. The golden rule was his motto and he instilled this character in his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by Lynda Cockrell, Brandon, Mollie Van Devender (Billy), Jackson, Jamie Roberts (Robby), Austin, TX and Angela Stephens (Joe) of Magee, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family would like to especially thank Linda Rhodes and Joe Brown for their sincere love and devotion through the years to the Magee family.

Arrangements were entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Mendenhall at 12:30 pm with services to follow at the church beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Mendenhall City Cemetery.
