Bobby Ray Walker, 60, of Magee, MS passed away June 3, 2013, at St. Dominic Hospital, Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, also Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Corinth Baptist Church in Magee, with services following the visitation. Burial will be at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee.
Mr. Walker was born October 19, 1952, in Magee, a son of the late James Buchanan and Mary Nell Grubbs Walker. A resident of Magee since childhood, he graduated from Magee High School in 1972 and attended Copiah Lincoln Community College. He was employed by Vickers and later by Magnetek Mfg. Co. for 15 years.
Mr. Walker was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. The greatest joy in his life was his son, Chad, and his daughter, Dee, and his two beautiful grandchildren, Reed and Mary Grace. He was an avid sportsman; he loved fishing, hunting, and shooting darts with friends. He even had a trophy room to display his mounted deer and fish and his father's Tennessee Walking Horse trophies. Mr. Walker was such a gift to all who knew him. He had more friends than anyone could imagine. He had a quick wit, great smile, and was a wonderful "story teller". Eudora Welty would have loved visiting with him.
Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Jessie.
Mr. Walker is survived by: his wife, Angie; one son, Chad Anthony (Carrie) Walker; one daughter, Dee (Bryan) Miller; two step- daughters, Lindsey (Jon) Roberts, and Whitney (Josh) McMillan; grandchildren, Reed and Mary Grace Miller, Paris Roberts, Brayden McMillan, and Rylee McMillan. Other survivors include: sisters, Alice Faye (Harold) Weess and Kay (Roger) Collier.
