Charlie Williamson, 84, of Mendenhall passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Simpson General  Hospital. Born in Braxton on July 31, 1928, a son of the late Lanah Lou (Benton) and N.  F. Williamson, Charlie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy Westbrook Williamson; two sons, Terry (Carol) Williamson and Greg (Paula) Williamson, both of Mendenhall; and a daughter, Renee Williamson, of Atlanta, GA.  He is also survived by: five grandchildren and one great grand child; and a sister, Gertrude (Charles) Sullivan, of Braxton.   He was preceded in death by: six brothers, Howard Williamson, J. C. Williamson,  N. F. Williamson, Jr., Johnny Williamson, Harold Williamson and W. D. Williamson; and four sisters, Beatrice Farmer, Frankie Thurman, Ethel Ainsworth, and Gladys Williamson.  He had retired from the U.S. Army and the National Guard.

Arrangements were entrusted toTutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, December 14, 2012, from 5 pm until 8 pm.

Religious service will be at First Baptist Church, Mendenhall, at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 15, 2012,  with Rev. Rodney Anderson officiating.  Interment will be in Jupiter Cemetery, Braxton.
