Daniel R. (Dan) Little, 49, of Magee passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012, at his residence. He was born May 15, 1962, in Simpson County, the son of Linda (Cook) Little and the late L. W. Little, Jr. Dan was a graduate of Magee High School, attended Mississippi State University, graduated from the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers' Training Academy, was a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic, and received an Associates Degree in Nursing from Jones County Junior College. Dan proudly served the communities of Mississippi. He previously served part-time as Minister of Music at Eastside Baptist Church, Jackson Fire Department, Jackson Police Department, EMT/Paramedic, Magee Police Department, and Magee General Hospital. At the time of his death, he was employed with Simpson County Sheriff's Department and Sunbelt Management Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Magee.
In addition to his mother, Linda Cook Little, Dan is survived by a sister, Gail (Mitch) Maddox; nephew Trevor Maddox, and a host of family and friends.
A special thanks is extended to Magee General Hospital, Odyssey Hospice, Dr. Frank C. Wade, and Dr. Baker for the excellent care given to Dan during his illness.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 5, 2012, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Tutor Funeral Home, Magee. Religious service will be at First Baptist Church, Magee,, at 1 pm on Monday, February 6, 2012, with Rev. Buddy Keyes and Rev. Maxwell Price officiating. Interment will be in Beulah Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Jack Everett, Edward Little, Thomas Little, Matt Prince, Zeke Yates, Norman Johnston, Tarvey Counts, Jim Bob Dale, Dusty Drennan, and Tony McDaniel. Honorary bearers are: Trevor Maddox, Tom Royals, Simpson County Sheriff''s Department, and Magee General Nursing Staff. In lieu of flowers, Dan requested that memorial contributions may be made to the charity or organization of your choice.
