David Samuel Ogletree, 59, of Mendenhall passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012, at his residence.  Born December 29, 1952, a son of the late Helen (Scott) and Andrew Ogletree, David grew up in the Jackson and Clinton area, and was a member of Van Winkle Baptist Church.  He attended Hinds Community College, Delta State and University of Southern Mississippi.  He was a chef and owned Boogers Tamales. Survivors include his brothers, Dr. Ben Ogletree and wife, Bennie of Columbus; Paul Ogletree of Brandon; nephew, Blake Ogletree of Columbus; niece, Dr. Brittany Ogletree Larkin of Millbrook, AL; and two great nieces, Ava and Oliva.  Aunts and uncles are: Mrs. Ernestine Scott, Mrs. Mable Coats, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Scott, Mrs. Sue Freeny, and Mr. and Mrs Marcus Peoples.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Ogletree.

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Childrens Village, Post Office Box 27, Clinton, MS  39060.  The family plans a memorial service at a later date.
