Dennis Lee Cochran, 59, of Mendenhall, formerly of Bartonville, IL, passed away at 10:30 pm on February 15, 2012, at his residence. “Denny” was born October 28, 1952, to Charles E. Cochran of Mendenhall, and the late Evelyn (Talley) Cochran. He was also preceded in death by a sister.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lois Goss, whom he married on July 5, 1975, in Bartonville. Also surviving are: two sons, Jed Cochran of Nashville, TN and Jeremy (Christina) Cochran of Mendenhall; two brothers, Earl (Sandy) Cochran of Germantown Hills, and Dale (Peggy) of Peoria,IL. He is also survived by: three grandchildren, Shelbi, Mari, and newborn Gabriel; 12 nieces and nephews; 7 great nieces and nephews.
Denny served in the US Naval reserves from 1972 – 1978. He worked for Transocean off the coast of Brazil, and had worked off-shore drilling since 1979. Prior to that, Denny worked for Caterpillar inEast Peoria, IL andMossville, IL.
To know Denny was to love Denny. He had a heart of gold and was a very giving, fun loving person. He loved spending time with his 2 granddaughters.….they were the joy of his life. He was so excited at the news that he was getting a new grandson to carry on the Cochran name. Gabe was born 11 days prior to Denny’s passing. Denny got to meet Gabe before he passed.
