Frank Weldon Barrett, 72, passed away peacefully at the University of Mississippi Medical Center on November 30, 2010. Visitation will be held at Tutor Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 at the First Baptist Church of Mendenhall with interment following in the Mendenhall City Cemetery. Frank was born in Lucedale, MS on November 1, 1938, the oldest child of the late Helen (Mills) and Hollis Hughlee Barrett. Frank graduated from Mendenhall High School. He attended the University of Mississippi where he graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1960. He was a pharmacist for 50 years, with 39 of those years in his store, Mendenhall Drug. He was a licensed pharmacist in the state of Alabama. Frank was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mendenhall, and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Mendenhall. Frank was a loving husband to his wife, Martha, of 51 years; a loving father to Andy, John and Amy (Michael); a loving "Pop Pop" to Barrett, Anna Katherine, Lauren, Brooke, Maya and Lian; and a loving brother to Kathy (Rusty) Sykes and stepbrother to Don (Joy) Harris. Frank was a special uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Barrett and Helen Barrett Harris; stepfather E. G. Harris and stepbrother, Larry Harris. Frank thoroughly enjoyed his life with his family and friends. He enjoyed sharing laughs and touched many lives in his 72 years on this earth. He loved his customers and the many people he met during his life. He will be remembered as someone willing to help others.
