Herbert George Scharwath, Sr., 72, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2013 at his home in Mendenhall, MS. Born and raised in Garyville, LA, he was one of six siblings, sharing a special bond with his twin brother, Frank. He joined the Army after graduating from Leon Godchaux High School in 1959. Married to Annette Amato for nearly 50 years, they raised four children. He worked for Texaco Gas Processing in Paradis, LA and drove hotshot for Acme Truck Line of Houma, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ethel Scharwath, a sister Faith Ann Coneglio and his beloved dog Bubba. He is survived by his wife Annette, son George, Jr. of Raeford, NC, daughter and son-in-law, Angela and James Morris of Daphne, AL, son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Janel Scharwath of Sumter, S.C., daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Pete Pellegrin of Houma, LA, three grandsons, Kevin Scharwath of Hattiesburg, Andrew Scharwath of Sumter, S.C. and Peter John Pellegrin, Jr. of Houma, LA; brother Frank Scharwath (Barbara Dolan) of Magee, MS., sisters Tiny Scharwath of Magee, MS, Joy Ann Monica of Garyville, LA and Cookie Scharwath (Tony Johnson) of Magee, MS, and many beloved family and friends. Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, with a chapel service immediately following. Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home, Magee MS.
