Elizabeth Joell Harris McBeth Our beloved mother, daughter, and sister passed into eternity in the comfort of her home, cared for by loving family members and friends.  Over the last two years, she battled cancer in the same manner that she faced any obstacles in her life, with dignity and courage.

A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church of Magee, Sunday November 18, 2012, at 2pm. Visitation will be held at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, Saturday from 5pm until 8pm.

A native of Magee, she was the daughter of Mrs. Joy Foster Harris and the late Don G. Harris. She graduated from Simpson County Academy and attended the University of Mississippi and later graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was an active member of Phi Mu Sorority and cherished her lifelong friendships.

She was a person who touched many lives, especially during her illness and was an inspiration to many. She never met a stranger, and she had a personality that could light up a room.  Her children were the center of her world.

As she bravely fought cancer, she continued to love and cherish her children. Even on the most difficult days, she still found the strength to set an example for her children and encourage them to do their very best and to never give up.

Joell was an active member of First Baptist Church of Magee, Simpson, and Rankin County Phi Mu Alumni Associations, Rankin County Republicans, and a member of the PTA.  She loved everything about Ole Miss. She enjoyed teaching etiquette classes and was a gifted artist.  Spending time with her family was important to her and she enjoyed shopping with Megan and attending sporting events with Evan.

She is survived by her children, Megan Elizabeth McBeth and Evan Alexander McBeth, both of Magee; mother, Joy Foster Harris of Magee; brother, Scott Foster Harris and his wife Brec Miles Harris of Hattiesburg; sister, Jennifer Harris Moulton and her husband Ben Moulton of Roswell, GA; nephews and nieces, Scott Miles Harris, Rebecca Foster Harris, Hannah Mary Moulton and Alice Belle Moulton.

She is preceded in death by her father, Don G. Harris of Magee; her uncle, Larry Green Harris of Mendenhall; maternal grandparents, Royce and Bobbie Duckworth Foster of Magee; and paternal grandparents, E.G. and Mary Esther Jones Harris of Mendenhall.
