Johnny O. Jackson, Jr., 68, of White Oak passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at MS Baptist Medical Center, in Jackson.  Born in Bogue Chitto on September 19, 1943, a son of the late Vera Grace (Coone) and Johnny O. Jackson, Sr., he is survived by: a son, Micah (Katy) Jackson; two brothers, Jeff (Cindy) Jackson and David (Shelia) Jackson; three sisters, Gloria (Wayne) Musgrove, Emily Hemphill (Sydney Eugene) Williams, and Beth (David) Harrison.   He is also survived by grandchildren, Kristin, Kimberly, Alexis, Brittany, Laura, and Zoey; and great grandchildren, Riley, and Chloe.  Other survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.  Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy (Hand) Jackson, and a son, Johnny Olee Jackson, III. He served two tours with the US Army Special Forces as a Green Beret in Vietnam.  He earned a Bronze Star for Valor, a Bronze Star for Meritous Service, a Purple Heart, two Good Conduct Medals, Combat Infantryman Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, National Defense Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon and the Vietnam Counter Offensive Ribbon.  He had retired from Bellsouth as a fiber optic cable splicer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.  Visitation will be Friday, September, 7, 2012, from 5 pm until 8 pm.  The religious service will be Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 10:00 am at Tutor Funeral Home Chapel in Magee, with Dr. Dale Holloway officiating.  Interment will be in Sardis Cemetery in Smith County.
