KADIE DARLENE GARNER, MAGEE, MS

On May 5, 1983, Anthony and Darlene Garner were blessed with the birth of their second child, Kadie Darlene. She was born in Magee hospital to grateful parents and her sister Elizabeth. Her grandparents are J.L. and Hazel Hankins and the late A. J. and Naydell Garner. Kadie left this world August 9, 2011. She leaves behind family and a host of special friends.

Kadie was blessed by the unselfish act of an unknown donor family, and through this act God gave her five more wonderful years with her family and friends - each and every day cherished by all who knew and loved her. She lived with an exceptional zest for life and an uncommon kindness that inspired love and admiration in all those around her. She loved conversation and lived for the happiness and comfort of others, always putting their needs above her own. As a nurse of Kadie’s and a very special friend put it, “Kadie did not just live, she thrived, and in doing so, she touched the hearts of everyone.” She met each day with a smile on her face and her blue eyes full of light; with an unwavering courage and steadfast faith, she bravely faced every obstacle handed to her without ever doubting or asking why.

Kadie’s cousin Ashton put it best when he said, “Kadie has an amazing story that will continue to touch people’s lives, through all her struggles, she always overcame with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She never let anything get her down.” Her short life inspired everyone she came in contact with, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, Kadie’s wish would be for you to help others as she was so graciously helped by the selfless act of an organ donor and those who supported the Transplant Guild. Please, find it in your heart to make a donation to:  Transplant Guild, Attn: Div. Accountant, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39216.  Or online at:  www.universitytransplantguild.com

Visitation will be at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, Friday, August 12, 2011, from 5:00 pm to 9 pm.

Memorial services will be held at her home church of Corinth Baptist in Magee, on Saturday morning, August 13, 2011, at 10:00 am.
