Veneida Vichelle Jaynes Forest, born May 6, 1967, in Magee, MS, was the second of three children of Ernest and Clara Jaynes. She was reared in Magee where she attended the local public schools. She was an outstanding student who received many awards and honors. She graduated from Magee High School and Southern Technical College. She also attended Alcorn State University.
She joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Her life, even through her illness was exemplified by faith and trust in God. Veneida had a fond love for fishing, traveling, arts and crafts, and being with family and friends.
Her first jobs were with Simpson County in the Circuit Clerks' office then the Tax Accessor's office. She also worked a short time at Citizen's State Bank, now PriorityOne Bank. Dedication and love of job and fellow workers seemed to be what Veneida, Court Clerk for the City of Magee, was all about. She loved her job and was intrigued by the harmonious relationships of her fellow workers and the dedication of her boss.
On Sunday, April 29, 2012, Veneida was called home to receive her crown and start her new life in heaven.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by: the love of her life, Tony Forest; her loving daughter, Toneida (Jeremy) Martin, Atlanta, GA; her parents, Ernest and Clara Jaynes; three brothers, Erndaryl Jaynes, Eric (Rosalind) Jaynes, and Chris (Treneicia) Berry; her mother-in-law, Fannie Mangum, all of Mendenhall, MS; Jasmine Johnson, Clinton, MS; two special nephews, Kaadyn Johnson and Jayden Jaynes/son; a dearly loved grandmother, Emogene Harper, Forest, MS; a special aunt, Delores Sabree and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousing, aunts, uncles, family, and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 3, 2012, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Tutor Funeral Home, Magee, MS. The Religious Service will be Friday, May 4, 2012, at 1:00 pm at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Gregory Cemetery, Magee, MS.
