WILLIAM "BILLY" CHAPPELL, BRAXTON, MS

William Harold (Billy) Chappell, 79, of Braxton passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, at his residence.  Born in Pinola on September 4, 1933, a son of the late Maude (Millis) and Carly Chappell, Billy is survived by his wife, Kathy (King) Chappell; a son, Danny Chappell, of Braxton; a daughter, Patricia (Scott) Van Kirk, of Enid, OK; grandchildren, Daniel Chappell, Stephanie (Issac) Wiens, and Noah Van Kirk; and three great grandsons.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frieda Chappell, a son Rodney Chappell, and a grandson, Benjamin Van Kirk. Billy attended Co-Lin Junior College and Mississippi State.  He was in the Army, serving in Alaska.  He was a retired Alaskan teamster, had worked at Universal Manufacturing plant, operated heavy equipment, and was a cattleman.  He enjoyed meeting people, travel, football, and politics.

Arrangements have bee entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Visitation will be Saturday, October 6, 2012, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home in Mendenhall.  Religious service will be at Tutor Funeral Home Chapel, Mendenhall, at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 7, 2012, with Rev. Joel Eavenson officiating.  Interment will be at Pinola Cemetery, Pinola, MS.
