Carroll Douglas "C. D." Bryant, 63, of Magee passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Jackson. Born in Magnolia, MS on November 23, 1949, a son of the late Loene (Shillings) Bryant Prine and Norman Bryant, his survivors include: his wife, Nancy (Fairchild) Bryant; two sons, Stanton (Angie) Bryant, of Mendenhall and Dallas Bryant, of Magee; three daughters, Angela (Steve) Banks, of Mount Olive, Kristi (Melvin) Pittman, of Monticello, and Eltrina (Brad) Lang, of Flowood. He is also survived by grandchildren: Wesley and Laine Bryant, AmBrea, Katira, Rob, and Dayton Banks, Raven Ferguson, Audriana and Brooklyn Pittman, and Sara Lang. C. D. was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton Lynell Bryant. C. D. was an honored Vietnam veteran, where he served with the U. S. Army. Among other medals, he was awarded a Purple Heart, and two Bronze Stars. He also rode with the Patriot Guard. He had retired as a welder and truck driver.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee. Religious service will be Sunday, January 6, 2013, in the Tutor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Blair and Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Coat Baptist Church Cemetery.
