Charles Albert Massey, Sr., age 79, of Magee passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Hillcrest Nursing Center in Magee.  A memorial service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at  First United Methodist Church, Magee with burial in the Natchez City Cemetery, Natchez, MS. Charles Albert is survived by: his wife, Emily Chauvin Massey of Magee; four sons, Bert and Clare Massey of Madison, Brice and Cathy Massey, of Jackson, Bryan and Amy Jo Massey, of Tulsa, OK; Brad and Lindsey Massey, of Hattiesburg.  Other survivors are: grandchildren, Trey Massey of Alexandria, VA, Trudy (Taylor) Howard of Galveston, TX, Clayton (Valerie) Massey of Brandon, John (Sara) Capton of Jackson, Sarah McCraw of Jackson, Grant and Sara Griffin and Sydney Massey of Tulsa, OK,  Lauren Taylor and Hudson Massey of Hattiesburg; great grandchildren, Miley Kate Massey of Brandon, Hayes Capton of Jackson; and a sister, Bobbie Nell Taylor of Natchez and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

Born in Ferriday, LA on February 14, 1933, a son of the late Mae Louise (Zappe) and Albert Martin Massey, Charles Albert is a graduate of Ferriday High School and Louisiana State University class of 1955.  He was a business owner, civic leader and educator at Simpson County Academy.  Charles Albert was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Magee for over fifty years, where he served in every capacity except pastor.  He loved being a member of the choir.  He also loved following Simpson Academy sports and the LSU Tigers.  Charles Albert enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors.  He also served in the U.S. Army; and retired as Captain.
