Tom Gaddis Womack, a lifelong resident of Simpson County, expired Sunday, May 5, 2013. The 93 year native of Magee was born August 5, 1919, and attended public schools in Martinville, Magee, and Mendenhall. He served his country during World War II as an army soldier in Italy. Following the war, Mr. Womack became a dairy farmer north of Magee where he raised his family and was a model citizen. He was a christian for all of his adult life and a member of First Baptist Church, Magee.

Mr. Womack was preceded in death by: his parents, Tyree and Alty Womack; several brothers and a sister; an infant son, Ted; granddaughter Kimberly Lynn Womack, and a daughter-in-law Ann Womack.

Survivors include: his wife of 73 years, Nevis McAlpin Womack; three children: Fred (Judy) Womack of Diamondhead, MS; Jean Redding of Jackson, TN, and Michael Womack of Washington, DC; five grandchildren: Kathy Womack (David) Dobie, Eric Womack, Leiane (Chris) Bowling, DD (Brian) Seaton, and Chris (Samantha) Redding. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren.

Arrangements were entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home. Visitation hours are Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee. Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Tutor Funeral Home Chapel.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church of Magee Building Fund.
